Our Community.
Our Safety.
We are proud to welcome volunteers from all communities across the Netherlands to support our charity. Because, at Citywatch, we believe in the power of people to stop crime.
The power is in speaking up – silence allows criminals to prosper, to hurt us and those we care about.
The power is also in helping others speak up – letting everyone know that they do not need to be silenced, that through Citywatch’ anonymity they can be safe and stop crime.
As one of our local volunteers you can help:
This is vitally important for so many people who do not feel able to talk with the police directly, for often very personal reasons. Together, we can all be safer from crime.
Why Citywatch?
People choose to volunteer for Citywatch for a variety of reasons. Some have been personally affected by crime, for others it offers the chance to give something back to the community and make a difference to the people around them. For many it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge and meet new people.
- Through volunteering, you will help to give a voice to people who don’t feel able to speak up/ those who are vulnerable.
- Our volunteers are active across all communities, using their personal networks and building new relationships to promote our services to the people who need them the most.
- Everyone is welcome to be part of our team. In each local area we have general advocates and more specific roles in leadership, administration, communications, fundraising, and outreach.
- We value and recognise the work of our volunteers.
Please note: Citywatch is an independent charity, and our volunteers support us in local communities in a variety of roles. You will not be volunteering with the police.
